I've always been fascinated by politics and social issues, which led me to pursue a degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Delhi. My academic background and passion for PSIR helped me in my UPSC journey.
I started preparing for the UPSC exam about a year and a half before the actual exam. I created a study plan that included a mix of theory and practice. I focused on completing my syllabus first and then moved on to practice questions and mock tests. I also made sure to revise my notes regularly.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was time management. With a full-time job and a family to take care of, it was difficult to find time to study. I had to be very disciplined and prioritize my tasks. I also faced difficulties in understanding some of the concepts, which required me to seek help from my teachers and online resources.
To overcome the challenges, I developed a few strategies. Firstly, I created a schedule that included dedicated time for studying and revision. I also made sure to take breaks and engage in physical activities to maintain my physical and mental health. Secondly, I sought help from my teachers and online resources when I needed it. I also joined a study group to discuss and learn from my peers.
The interview experience was a mix of emotions for me. I was nervous but also excited to share my thoughts and ideas with the panel. I was asked a range of questions, from my academic background to my views on current affairs. I made sure to be confident and articulate in my responses.
Securing 49th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022 was a dream come true for me. It was a result of my hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I believe that my academic background and passion for PSIR played a significant role in my success. I also believe that seeking help when needed and being part of a study group were crucial in my journey.
