I've always been fascinated by the complexities of the human world and the intricate relationships between people, places, and environments. Growing up, I was drawn to Geography as a subject, and I spent countless hours reading about different cultures, histories, and landscapes. My interest in Geography only deepened as I delved deeper into the subject, and I soon realized that it was more than just a collection of facts and figures – it was a way of understanding the world and our place within it.
My study plan was built around a simple yet effective approach: consistency and focus. I dedicated a set amount of time each day to studying, and I stuck to it religiously. I also made sure to create a schedule that allowed me to balance my studies with other aspects of my life, such as work and socializing. This helped me stay motivated and avoid burnout.
One of the biggest challenges I faced during my UPSC journey was dealing with self-doubt and imposter syndrome. There were times when I felt like I wasn't good enough, like I was just pretending to be a serious aspirant. But I knew that I had to push through these feelings and focus on my goals. I also had to deal with the pressure of performing well in the exam, which can be overwhelming at times.
To overcome the challenges I faced, I employed a number of strategies. One of the most effective was creating a study group with like-minded individuals. We would meet regularly to discuss our progress, share resources, and provide support. This not only helped me stay motivated but also gave me a sense of belonging and community.
The interview experience was a unique and challenging aspect of the UPSC exam. I had to be prepared to answer a wide range of questions, from current events to theoretical concepts. But I also had to be able to think on my feet and respond to unexpected questions. This required a combination of knowledge, critical thinking, and communication skills.
My success in the UPSC exam was a culmination of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I had to push through numerous challenges and setbacks, but I never gave up on my goals. And when I finally received the news that I had made it to the top 50, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and accomplishment. It was a moment I will never forget, and it serves as a reminder that anything is possible with determination and hard work.
