Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to make a difference in society. I come from a family that values education and public service. My parents encouraged me to pursue my dreams, and I was determined to become an IAS officer.
I began preparing for the UPSC exam after completing my graduation. I knew that it would be a challenging journey, but I was ready to put in the hard work required. I created a study plan that included a mix of academic subjects, current affairs, and optional subjects. I devoted at least 8 hours a day to studying, with a focus on understanding the concepts rather than just memorizing them.
One of the biggest challenges I faced during my preparation was time management. With so many subjects to cover, it was easy to get overwhelmed. I had to learn to prioritize my tasks and manage my time effectively. I also had to deal with self-doubt and frustration at times, but I never gave up.
To overcome the challenges, I developed a few strategies that worked for me. Firstly, I created a habit of reading newspapers and current affairs magazines on a daily basis. This helped me stay updated with the latest events and issues. I also made a habit of solving previous year's question papers to get an idea of the exam pattern and difficulty level.
The interview experience was a new and intimidating challenge for me. I had to be prepared to answer questions on a wide range of topics, from my academic background to my interests and hobbies. I prepared by reading up on current events, practicing my communication skills, and learning about different cultures and traditions.
The day of the results arrived, and I was nervous but hopeful. When I saw my name on the list, I was overjoyed. It was a moment of pure elation and relief. I had worked hard for this moment, and it felt amazing to have achieved my goal.
