I come from Bijnor district of western UP, and my journey to becoming a UPSC topper was not of a childhood dream nor of falling for this career path. I actually started preparing for the exam in June 2022, and gave my attempt in 2023. My story is a testament to the fact that it's never too late to start preparing for the civil services exam.
My study plan was quite straightforward - I focused on understanding the basics of each subject, and then moved on to advanced topics. I made sure to cover all the topics in the syllabus, and didn't leave any stone unturned. I also made sure to practice as many questions as possible, and analyze my performance to identify areas of improvement.
One of the biggest challenges I faced during my preparation was time management. With a full-time job and other commitments, it was difficult to find time to study. But I managed to prioritize my studies and make the most of the time I had.
Start early: Don't wait for the last minute to start preparing for the exam. Give yourself enough time to understand the basics and practice as many questions as possible.
Focus on understanding: Don't just memorize the concepts - make sure you understand them thoroughly. This will help you to apply the concepts in a practical way.
Practice, practice, practice: The more you practice, the better you will become. Make sure to practice as many questions as possible, and analyze your performance to identify areas of improvement.
Stay motivated: It's easy to get demotivated during the long and grueling preparation process. But don't give up - stay motivated and focused on your goal.
My interview experience was quite smooth - I was well-prepared and confident. I made sure to answer all the questions to the best of my ability, and didn't hesitate to ask for clarification if I needed it.
My success in the UPSC CSE 2023 is a testament to the fact that hard work and determination can take you a long way. I am proud of myself for achieving my goal, and I hope to inspire others to do the same.
