I was born in a small town of Aurangabad, Bihar. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the world of civil services and the impact it can have on society. My motivation for UPSC came during COVID, and I started preparing along with my job after 2021. Since I wasn't able to qualify the preliminary exams, I had to re-strategize my approach.
My study plan was centered around creating a daily routine that would help me stay focused and consistent. I allocated specific time slots for each subject, including history, geography, and current affairs. I also made sure to take breaks and engage in physical activities to maintain my mental and physical health.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was managing my time effectively. With a 12-14 hour schedule, it was easy to get overwhelmed and lose focus. I had to constantly remind myself of my goals and priorities to stay on track. Another challenge I faced was dealing with self-doubt and imposter syndrome. There were times when I felt like I wasn't good enough or that I was just pretending to be a civil servant.
To overcome these challenges, I employed several strategies. Firstly, I broke down my study material into smaller chunks, making it easier to digest and retain. I also created a habit of reviewing my notes regularly, which helped me identify areas where I needed improvement. Another key strategy was leveraging AI tools like ChatGPT, which provided me with valuable insights and perspectives on complex topics.
The interview experience was both exhilarating and intimidating. I was nervous but prepared, and I made sure to stay calm and composed throughout the process. I was asked a range of questions, from current affairs to personal experiences, and I did my best to provide thoughtful and well-reasoned responses.
Looking back, I realize that my success was not just about achieving a good rank, but also about the journey I took to get there. It was a journey marked by perseverance, self-reflection, and a willingness to learn. I hope that my story can inspire others to pursue their dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem.
