How they prepared for UPSC CSE 2022
Growing up, I was always fascinated by the world of governance and public policy. My parents, both government employees, would often share stories about their work, and I was captivated by the idea of making a difference in people's lives. As I grew older, my interest in politics and governance only deepened, and I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in the civil services.
I started preparing for the UPSC CSE in 2018, but I didn't have a clear plan in place. I would study for a few hours every day, but I wasn't consistent. It wasn't until I joined a coaching institute in 2019 that I began to develop a structured study plan. I would wake up at 5:00 AM every day and study for 4-5 hours before heading to work. I would also dedicate 2-3 hours in the evening to studying. My plan was to cover all the subjects, but I soon realized that I needed to focus on the most important ones. I decided to prioritize current affairs, history, and geography, and I would allocate more time to these subjects.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was staying motivated. There were times when I felt like giving up, especially when I wasn't seeing the results I wanted. I would get frustrated with myself and wonder if I was good enough. But I knew that I had to push through, so I would remind myself why I started preparing in the first place. I would also talk to my friends and family, and they would encourage me to keep going.
Time Management: One of the most important strategies I used was time management. I would allocate specific times for studying, exercising, and relaxing. I would also make sure to get enough sleep, as I knew that a tired brain wouldn't be able to focus. Note-taking: I would take detailed notes while studying, and I would review them regularly. This helped me to remember key concepts and ideas. Practice: I would practice as many questions as I could, and I would analyze my mistakes. This helped me to identify my weaknesses and work on improving them. Revision: I would revise my notes regularly, and I would make sure to cover all the topics. Mock Tests: I would take mock tests to simulate the actual exam experience. This helped me to manage my time and stay calm under pressure.
My interview experience was a mix of emotions. I was nervous, but I was also excited. I had prepared well, but I knew that there was always a chance that I might not get selected. The interview panel asked me a range of questions, from current affairs to personality-based questions. I tried to answer each question confidently and honestly, and I made sure to highlight my strengths and achievements. After the interview, I felt relieved, but I also knew that I had to wait for the results.
When I received the news that I had cleared the UPSC CSE, I was overjoyed. I had worked hard for it, and I knew that it was a result of my dedication and perseverance. I felt proud of myself, and I knew that I had achieved something special. I also knew that this was just the beginning, and I was excited to start my journey as a civil servant.
