I'm Khushhali Solanki, and I'm thrilled to share my journey to securing the 61st rank in the UPSC CSE 2023. Born and raised in Bikaner, Rajasthan, I've always been fascinated by the world of governance and public administration. My parents, both government employees, encouraged me to pursue a career in the civil services.
My preparation for the UPSC CSE began with a solid understanding of the exam pattern and syllabus. I created a study plan that focused on building a strong foundation in general studies, particularly in history, geography, and polity. I also made sure to allocate sufficient time for optional subjects, choosing Public Administration as my area of interest.
The journey to the top wasn't easy. I faced numerous challenges, including self-doubt, lack of motivation, and the pressure to perform. There were times when I felt like giving up, but my determination and support system kept me going. One of the biggest challenges I faced was balancing my preparation with my day job. I worked as a software engineer while preparing for the exam, which required me to be disciplined and time-managed.
To overcome the challenges, I employed several strategies. Firstly, I created a study schedule that allowed me to allocate specific time slots for each subject. I also made sure to revise my notes regularly and practice previous year's question papers. Another key strategy was to join a study group, which provided me with a sense of community and motivation. We would discuss our progress, share resources, and learn from each other's experiences.
The interview experience was a mix of emotions - excitement, nervousness, and anticipation. I was well-prepared, having practiced my responses to common interview questions. However, I still felt a bit anxious about the outcome. The panel asked me questions on my optional subject, Public Administration, which I had prepared extensively. I was able to answer confidently and provide specific examples from my experience.
Securing the 61st rank was a dream come true. It was a culmination of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I learned that success is not just about achieving a goal but also about the journey you take to get there. My experience has taught me the importance of self-motivation, time management, and seeking help when needed. I hope my story inspires others to pursue their dreams and never give up on their aspirations.
The key to success is to stay committed and focused on your goals.
