I come from a middle-class family and was always encouraged to pursue my dreams. I was fascinated by the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS) from a young age. I knew that clearing the UPSC exam would be a challenging task, but I was determined to try my best.
I started preparing for the UPSC exam about 2 years before the actual exam. I had a clear plan in place, which included a thorough understanding of the syllabus, a study schedule, and a strategy for tackling the exam. I also joined a coaching institute to get guidance from experienced teachers.
The biggest challenge I faced during my preparation was time management. The UPSC exam requires a lot of time and effort, and it's easy to get overwhelmed. I also faced challenges in understanding certain topics, such as ethics and governance.
To overcome the challenges I faced, I developed several strategies. I made sure to allocate sufficient time for each topic, and I also practiced previous year's question papers to get a sense of the exam pattern. I also joined a study group to stay motivated and learn from others.
The interview experience was a mix of emotions for me. I was nervous but also excited to share my experiences and thoughts with the panel. The panel asked me a range of questions, from my background to my views on current issues. I made sure to answer each question confidently and clearly.
After clearing the UPSC exam, I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. I had worked hard for it, and it was a dream come true. I realized that success is not just about achieving a goal, but also about the journey you take to get there.
