I come from a family of teachers and have always been interested in public service. I pursued a degree in English Literature and later worked as a teacher in private institutions. However, I felt a sense of dissatisfaction and decided to try my luck in the Civil Services and KAS exams.
I started preparing for the exams about a year before the actual test date. I followed a structured study plan, allocating specific time slots for each subject and topic. I also made a list of all the topics I needed to cover and created a schedule to complete them.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was managing my time effectively. I had to balance my studies with other responsibilities, such as work and family commitments. Time management was a crucial aspect of my preparation.
To overcome the challenges, I employed several strategies. I created a study group with fellow aspirants to discuss topics and share resources. I also made flashcards to help me memorize key concepts and formulas. Practice tests were another essential part of my preparation, as they helped me assess my knowledge and identify areas for improvement.
The interview was a nerve-wracking experience, but I was well-prepared for it. I had practiced my responses to common interview questions and was confident in my ability to articulate my thoughts and ideas. The interview panel was friendly and asked me questions that were relevant to my profile and interests.
Securing AIR 81 in the UPSC exam and Rank 1 in Stream 1 of the KAS exam was a dream come true. It was a result of my hard work and dedication, and I was grateful to have the support of my family and friends. I believe that perseverance and self-belief are essential qualities for success in the UPSC and KAS exams.
